STPM results announced!!!

Penang Free School has once again continued its tradition of producing high achievers in this public examination held nationwide last November. The top scorers for last year’s results were Loh Jit Seng, Teoh Boon Soon and Ooi Hock Kheng who scored whooping strings of straight 5 Principal As. The other excellent achievers included Lim Chiat Sern, Lim Kin Heng and Loo Kim Hai, who scored 4As each. Meanwhile, Raymond Ooi Ean Hooi, Yeap Seng Chye, Lee Yuan Lih, Kenneth Tan Xiew Heng and Bok Chuang Chee had 3As to be proud of.

The passing percentage this year was 98.18% compared to the previous to year’s of 100%, which has shown some setbacks in certain core subjects, namely Bahasa Melayu, Matematik T, Matematik Lanjutan T, and Literature in English. However, improvements were achieved in Sejarah, Ekonomi, Matematik S and Perakaunan. Over the past years, Penang Free School had not failed to maintain a constant excellent achievements. The well expected results were not to be proud of without the everlasting support from teachers, parents and friends who has continously guided the students.

Since the early morning, most of them has gathered around the school area to obtain their results. Although the weather of the day itself was a little gloomy, but the spirit of these Sixth Formers were inevitably high as they eagerly received their results; after many sleepless nights. Some of them were overjoyed upon receiving their "passport-slips" from their former class teachers. Nevertheless, some did shed tears, knewing their doubtful fate ahead.

This year’s results is certainly an achievement which will be long remembered by all these old Sixth Formers of Penang Free School. As always, the neccessity of every young Frees and Old Frees, we would wish every each of them a greater success ahead in whatever they do. Fortis Atque Fidelis!
