Visit by Satri Nakhon Sawan School, Thailand

On Monday, the 23rd of April 2001, a group of teachers from Satri Nakhon Sawan School, Thailand paid a visit to the Grand Old Lady to foster closer ties between both institutions. The Computer Club was assigned to play host, a task which the club happily accepted.

At around 10:30 a.m. the visitors arrived at the PFS Computer Lab and were given some time to settle down.

When everyone was seated, Kuah Swee Heng, the secretary of the Computer Club gave a short welcoming speech and briefed our guests on PFS Online and its function as provider of comprehensive information regarding our school and said that the homepage is frequently updated – at least once a week – to fulfill the needs and demands of the public.

After Swee Heng’s speech, our hardware administrator, Tye Kuo Lun stepped out and spoke of 1998 AT&T Virtual Classroom Competition, where representatives of our school collaborated with schools from Japan and USA as a team named VC-06 and grabbed the highest honour. Kuo Lun touched also on the current AMD Computer Competition, which the Computer Club will be sending in two projects.

The function was later proceeded by Mr. Chuah Boon Yew who talked about the running of the club and stressed that all competition projects are handled wholly only by student members of the club.

Later, a photo shoot session was held whereby students of both schools snapped pictures, bantered and chatted.

At around 11:15 a.m., after having made new friends and a wonderful time, the troupe left the computer lab.
