Cheeseman Elocution Contest 2003

We have been expecting the Cheeseman Elocution contest to be held very soon but few of us anticipated that it would be today. Perhaps, the reason for having the contest earlier is to choose a representative for the state level "Youth Speaks for the Nation" organised by the Star Publication.

As usual, the elocution contest is divided into two parts – the prepared speech and the impromptu speech. The contest is open to all Form 5 and Form 6 students with one representative from each class.

The champion Neoh Joon Kee from L6D

Arif Zaini of 5 Delima spearheaded the fifth-formers’ challenge with an interesting speech on "Woman". Presenting his speech with some erotic expressions, he held everyone especially males spellbound. Next was the turn of the fiery Lim Jen Zen with his explosive speech about "Terrorism". Then came the equally brilliant and charismatic Joshua Teh whose speech appears to be a supplement of Ariff’s earlier work. Khoo Teng Jian , Gerald Tan and Shazwan  were the last three speakers from Form 5.

The veteran speaker Neoh Joon Kee from Lower Six D spoke about "Style". Delivering his speech with bombastic words, backed by superb expressions, accurate timing of gestures and  varying tones, he stood out clearly in the Form 6 line-up.

The overall champion is Neoh Joon Kee. The first runner up is Shazwan Mustapha Kamal and the second runner up is Joshua Neoh.
