The ISM Young Achiever’s Award is a competition organised by the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia with the support of the Ministry of Education. The Institution started organising this competition for schools in the year 2000 to instill the students’ interest in Mathematics, Science and Technology in general and the Science of Measurement in particular. It also aims to develop student’s skill in economic reasoning and making opinions.

Our team members are Mohd. Nazrin Kooy bin Mohd Daniel Kooy, Gary Hor Kok Chiu, Chan Huan Yang, Ahmad Faiz bin Ahmad Pauzi, Chien Keat Leong and Koay Zi Hao. On the 10th April, we were accompanied by two teacher advisors namely Mr. Zukifli bin Yusoff and Mr. Razak bin Kamaludin to attend the competition which was held at City Bayview Hotel.

The competition started with a presentation from each participating school. This was followed by quiz. There were four parts in the quiz. The first was about the surveying in general, the second was questions based on the selected pictures, the third was mainly on calculation and the last part was about the basic knowledge of Building Surveyor.

PFS is the second runner up. We won a RM 500 cheque, a trophy and a certificate of appreciation from the organiser.
